Microphones for the Royals

came out the best.  Her's is the purple stripey one.

Well, I am happy to report that my experiment in modifying the rattle pattern into a microphone was a three-fold success!  Each one took less than a day to make and they have been happily put to use ever since.  If you're a knitter and interested in my tweaks, let me know and I'd be happy to share!
